The Case Drain Protocol: Yanmar travel motors are precision instruments. Before installing a new unit, inspect the case drain line. If this line is restricted or the filter is clogged, backpressure will build up and blow the main shaft seal of your new motor almost instantly.

• Gear Oil Check: Change the planetary gear oil every 500 hours. If the oil looks "milky," your floating seal is breached—replace it before the water turns your expensive gears into scrap metal.

• Sprocket Bolt Care: The ViO35 generates significant torque for its size. Never reuse old sprocket bolts. Always use new Grade 10.9 or 12.9 bolts and a high-strength thread locker to keep the sprocket flange secure.

• Priming: Never run a motor "dry." Fill the motor case with clean hydraulic oil before starting the engine to ensure internal parts are lubricated from the first rotation.
